Copper-bonded (and copper-clad) steel earth rods combine the tensile strength of steel with the high electrical conductivity of copper. This bimetallic structure ensures robust mechanical performance alongside reliable current flow—ideal for grounding, earthing, and structural electrical applications.

The outer layer of copper offers superb corrosion resistance, protecting the steel core from environmental degradation. This makes copper-bonded steel especially suitable for long-term use in outdoor and underground grounding systems.
 
3. Superior Durability and Long Service Life
Manufactured via cold rolling, hot drawing, or metallurgical bonding, these flat bars ensure a strong copper-steel interface that resists peeling, cracking, or delamination. Typical copper layer thickness is ≥ 0.3 mm, and tensile strength ≥ 600 N/mm², giving a service life of 30–50 years or more.
